This week’s Top Tip is important information regarding Heavy Vehicle Access Permits.

It appears there are significant delays in the processing of access permit renewals from both the State/Local Road Managers and the NHVR. As a result, the NHVR has now moved the renewal period out from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. This now means that you may receive a renewal email up to 12 weeks prior to your permits’ expiry date.

Please note that we are aware of this and have your permit renewal in hand.

Please be aware that for new PBS permit applications above 68.5T, there are still significant delays for processing these permits in NSW with wait times pushing out to 2 months.

Please note - all other access permits have a current turnaround time (Apart from NSW) of around a minimum of 21 – 28 days to be completed.

On a positive note –

The NHVR have greatly improved PBS turnaround times for new PBS Vehicle Approvals (VA’s)certificate applications from 12 weeks to 4 weeks.
