Trailer Maintenance and Service Book.
The Trailer Service Record Book provides for the recording of maintenance that has been completed on trailers. Many operators are maintaining their own trailers however they are not recording of the various inspections completed and the works carried out on their trailers. Under the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) provisions of the Heavy Vehicle National Law operators must ensure that trailers are safe to operate, have been inspected and repaired. To validate these actions there must be records of the repairs and inspections that are completed. The books also provide for a record of the use of the trailer, the 52 week table located at the front of the book is your record of when the vehicle was, or was not used.
